Take A Hike Toowoomba Sunday 17 April

Your support for just one day can change the life of a child forever! What better way to spend a Sunday than walking, running or racing through beautiful Toowoomba, working together to positively change the life of a child with autism! Call on your colleagues, business associates, friends and family and get your team together today.

Take A Hike invites you to raise awareness for children with autism and help close the $10,000 funding gap AEIOU Foundation experiences for every child  in the program each year. With 1 in 100 children being diagnosed with autism in Australia, this is a monumental task.

That’s where you come in – our AEIOU champions. All funds raised will be used to support children at the AEIOU Toowoomba centre.

Walk. Run. Race.

  • 10.5km  for the Sunday stroller (blue route only)
  • 21km     for the half marathon heroes (green and blue route)
  • 42km     for the marathon maniacs (all four routes)

Celebrate with a BBQ at the finish line to acknowledge your amazing achievements and most importantly, take pride in knowing that you have helped create a brighter future for children with autism.

So, dust off those trainers, start taking the stairs, and prepare to get your feet on the street to support children with autism.

AEIOU Foundation

AEIOU Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing best practice, full-time early intervention and learning programs, individually tailored for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The organisation was founded in 2005 by Dr James Morton AM and his wife Louise when their young son Andrew was diagnosed with autism. They discovered a lack of effective therapy and set about to find the best outcomes. Working with other parents, the first school was opened in 2005 and now has 8 centres across Queensland and 1 in South Australia.

Autism is a lifelong disorder and is more prevalent than childhood cancer and diabetes combined – there is no cure, but our program provides positive outcomes with 70% of our children transitioning into mainstream schooling.

AEIOU's early intervention evidenced based program helps create brighter future for children with autism and their families. Our vision is to ensure every child with autism is provided with maximum opportunities to reach their full potential.
